The Economic Survey of F/Y 2077/78

The Economic Survey 2077/78 has been published including the aggregate economic indicators up to the end of the Fiscal Year 2077/78, the state of revenue mobilization and expenditure management and the major indicators of socio-economic development up to the same period. 
In addition to the impact of the  Covid-19 pandemic on various sectors of Nepal's economy, the survey examines the work done to prevent, control and treat infections. 
Integrated details of economic and social activities and also economic and financial status of federal, provinces and local levels are presented. The data presentation has been improved to make the data included in the survey simpler and more meaningful. 
Despite the adverse effects of the Covid pandemic, most macroeconomic indicators remain positive. National investment has expanded. Financial access, capital markets and insurance have expanded. The overall balance of payments position is in surplus. Remittance inflows and foreign exchange reserves have increased. From the second quarter of the fiscal year onwards, the impact of Covid has gradually diminished.
Revenue mobilization has also improved by expanding economic activities. Despite the adverse effects of the pandemic, significant progress has been made in the first eight months of the current fiscal year in physical infrastructure development and expenditure management, including post-earthquake reconstruction. Reconstruction of Dharohara, Ranipokhari and Durbar High School as historical monuments of the nation has been completed.
