Looking north from Resunga, you can see Annapurna I, II and III as well as more than 15 mountains including Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre. At sunset, the shadow of Dhaulagiri falls on Resunga. Cool climate, dense forests and biodiversity are equally attractive. The best time to visit this region is from November to April.
How to reach?
Palpa, Tansen can be reached by bus from Butwal or Pokhara through Siddhartha Highway. Tamghas, the district headquarters of Gulmi, is reached by a two-and-a-half-hour bus journey on a 79-kilometer paved road west-north of Palpa. Resunga is easily reached within an hour's walk from Tamghas. Or if it takes longer to walk, you can still drive to the top, just a 20-minute walk to the top of Resunga Mountain.
Apart from its natural beauty, Gulmi is also famous for its commercial coffee cultivation. After reaching Resunga, one can reach Jubhung in an hour's walk and see the coffee plants and production process. Its coffee is exported to Japan and other countries.
You can walk around Resunga in one day and return to Tamghas in the evening. Or you can spend the night in a tent in Resunga. Hotel Pauwa Pvt. Ltd. has recently started a resort here, it has become more convenient for those who visit Resunga. Resunga now seems to be helping to promote spiritual tourism.
