Tribhuvan University, 2080, 3Yrs. LL.B/III Year/LAW, Interpretation of Statutes, (Law: 522) Old Course, Full Marks: 50, Time: 1½ hrs.

1. Evaluate primary and subsidiary rules of interpretation with suitable examples.

2. Examine the salient features of the Interpretation of Statues Act, 2010 B.S. with reference to notable verdicts of the Supreme Court of Nepal.

3. Give examples how intention is attributed to the legislature when it expresses none.

4. What is aids to interpretation? Examine the applicability of external aids in statutory interpretation.

5. Write short notes on:

a. Consolidating and codifying statutes

b. Restrictive construction

c. Construction of wills

d. Commencement, repeal and revival

e. Leges posteriors priores contrarias abrogant
